Here are steps that needed to be followed once you plan to setting up your email id on Microsoft Outlook 2010. The setup can be followed by a few steps which include the choice of your Imap and poop3 option.
ATT.NET Email Auto Setup For Outlook 2010
Click on the outlook link and open the web page
Go through the new option and select file
Click on Information and account settings
Later you will come across Auto Account Set up
You will be given few warning messages on account set up
Move ahead and click allow then choose yes below
Microsoft outlook 2010 automatically configures your account as an IMAP account with all the correct settings
Move ahead and click yes
The setting for an automatic update for Outlook 2010 has been made.
Manual Setting procedure for email setup on Outlook 2010
Go through the main page and click information
Click on account Settings
Choose Manual Set up or add service types
Select POP or IMAP the move to Next option
You will receive details on choosing an option for POP or IMAP, you need to be sure to choose one of those.
Go ahead to More Settings
The moving ahead you can click on outgoing server and then can click on My outgoing Server (SMTP) as it requires authentication.
Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Choose advanced tab
Settings for ATT.NET would be found below as of choice of POP or I MAP
POP3 Port settings For ATT.NET Email
Incoming Port: 110, Outgoing Port: 465
General settings for POP
Secure – Port: 995 and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Insecure – Port: 110 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
Not ticked: This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
Use the following type of encrypted connection is None
IMAP Port Settings For ATT.NET
Incoming Port: 143, Outgoing Port: 465
Secure – Port: 993and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Insecure – Port: 143 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates
Not ticked: This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
Use the following type of encrypted connection is None
Note: If you use Secure SSL / TLS Settings, check the “This service requires a secure connection (SSL)” box in both outgoing and Incoming mails.
General SMTP port settings for ATT.NET
Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port: 465 for and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port: 587 and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP) – Port: 25 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Insecure – Port: 587 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
